Overlooked, Too!

Why didn't this attract more, or, in fact, any attention? Because it was a creepy stalker movie about a partially retarded motel night manager who pursues a hapless businesswoman around the country? Because it was a creepy stalker movie tries to pass itself off as a heartwarming romantic comedy? It's hard to get past the grisly premise but `Management' just about succeeds because it has what very few films, especially heartwarming romantic comedies, seem to possess. Two actors with actual chemistry. Jennifer Aniston's tabloid punching-bag status, plus her generally lacklustre big studio movies, tend to make you forget what an appealing comic actress she can be. Especially when she's playing awkward and embarrassed. And there's barely a moment in `Management' where she's playing anything else. She reacts to Steve Zahn's infatuated follower like she's genuinely never encountered anyone like him before. He somehow manages to make a potential horror-movie character sort of like someone you want to see succeed. If you see it, you'll like it.
